Can I process the track by two different buses separately?

Post by romariozen » Wed May 17, 2023 10:33 am

Is that possible to process the track by two buses simultaneously? So that we kind of have 3 tracks and Bus #1 contains track 1 and 2, Bus #2 is track 2 and 3. And the track 2 is compressed in a Bus #1 and the same time, for example, processed by the resonance suppressor in the Bus #2 ? We can eliminate the problem by just copying the effects (standard way) but it works only for linear effects which work does not depend on the gain. Maybe someone knows the solution, am I missing some hidden tool in Ableton that could help?
P.S. if someone is wondering the heck I am doing, I actually find it very useful more often. For example, I often want to suppress low mids in a bus of piano and a pad, but the same time the piano is in another bus that contains other acoustic instruments and I want to glue them together by compressing, but I do not want the pad to be in that group because it loses its distance this way and gets instable dynamics by the compressor. This is just one example out of many I met in my recent practice. Idk maybe I am overcomplicating my mixing process but I do really feel that I need it.
P.S.S. please do not recommend me to get around the problem by EQ and etc. I am aware of all another stuff.

Thanks a lot in advance.

i'm not sure if i'm fully following the routing you are trying to achieve, however i think you need to either use sends & returns, or one of the Max4Live devices that allows you to route anything anywhere, e.g. https://valiumdupeuple.gumroad.com/l/vD ... ut=profile
