Detachable views

Post by Airbase » Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:14 am

Just got a brilliant idea I think. Why not implement a feature to detach one of the views. I (among many I presume) have multiple monitors, and I'd just die to be able to detach the session view and maximize on another monitor. This will give me the posibility to see both views (and have the mixer available on one monitor while still working in arrangement mode on the other monitor).

Anyone else who would like such a feature?

2nd that....

and..

Since you cannot edit midi notes in Arrange View this might be a good enhancement as well:

The option to 'link-follow' all midi clips in a midi Arrange track..
The workarround would be to consolidate all clips in a track but that will do no good to your visual organisation of a track..

So when you 'link' all midi clips in a track, you can visualy follow them in the Clip editor, below the Arrange..

This can be tricky though because clips can have different settings so refreshing this data can be a bit harsh to the eyes..
So maybe when in Play mode it only allows to follow the midi notes

Well, the best option offcourse would be to edit midi notes in arrange view..
Why isn't that possible anyway?

yes, one of the "big features" that i would hope we could expect in a future version:

detachable interface modules: mixer, session, arrange that can be moved on split screen and re-arranged the way we see fit

would love to have session on one screen, arrange on the other, and the mixer on either

think how awesome that would be ... vote vote vote ..

Yep, absolutely. I've said it before (as have many others) but I'll throw my vote in once again.

Variation on the theme...

Post by Fingers » Sun Aug 07, 2005 12:14 am

I'd like to be able to restack the Clip, Launch, Notes and Envelopes boxes when I'm editing midi clips. Right now if you resize the bottom half of the session view to enlarge a midi clip, these four boxes stay in a stubborn little row with a big useless blank space above them. I want to shift a couple of them up there so I can see another few bars of my clip!
enough with the damn t-shirts...
