Why does Push 3 create new clips in every armed tracks when hitting the record button ?

Post by chapelier fou » Mon Jul 24, 2023 8:47 am

Just bought a Push 3, and I'm encountering this issue. And now I remember that's why I returned Push 1 at the time.

If you have several tracks armed, hitting the record button on Push triggers recording in every armed track. I would expect that it would trigger recording on the track Push is focusing to.
What am I missing ?

I would expect that every track I armed to record would actually record, especially Audio Tracks, that have less relationship with all the MIDI pads and knobs.

If you want to just monitor you can change the monitoring options, instead of relying in arming the tracks with Auto (I think it is implied Auto means it will record in that track if armed).

(In Push 2 you click Mix 2 times then press the key over "Input&Output" in the screen. I assume it is similar in Push 3)

Impossible. I have a workflow based on live looping, which consists in many audio tracks armed and waiting to be recorded via a midi foot controller.

I can't test with P3 atm, but I just tried replicating your scenario with P2, and it's only recording to the selected track.
The only way I can recreate what you described is by launching a scene while the Rec button is on.

Are you seeing this both in Standalone and Controller mode? Or only in Standalone?

Both in Standalone and Controller. Simply pressing the Record button.
That's super critical to me as I want to create new MIDI clips / Overdub existing clips from the Push while leaving the other tracks armed.
