MPE / pressing note light up other one

Post by cz » Sat Aug 19, 2023 11:30 am

Hi,
just received my push3, and I'm testing the MPE, but when moving my finger around on a pad, let's say going up, it lights on and trigs the one below and vice versa.
I guess this not a normal behaviour ?

Hey Zoltan,

This isn't expected. Which firmware/software version are you running on your Push? Did you already update it to the latest version?
Also, does this happen after a reboot? If yes, is it happening on the same pads or does it "move"?

Mine did/does the same…especially when applying a lot of pressure when moving up and down a pad…it’s ok when playing gently. I adjusted the default first setting in the Sensitivity option on the Push itself to avoid this crosstalk. By default it was as 14, I changed it to 20 (I think this is out of a 100) and it doesn’t do it at all, even when playing harder.

Would be nice to know others preferred Sensitivity settings…

Hope that helps!

Same here,
I have opened a support ticket. I don't know If it is a firmware or hardware issue. Support is teling me it is a firmware issue and I'll be notified if the firmware is being made available and in case the new firmware is not solving it, the unit can be returned.

You may want to open a support case just making sure you can send the unit back in case the firmware update isn't solving the problem.

In the mean time I have threshold to 32. I don't really notice this threshold setting btw.

Yes - I have also registered the issue with a support ticket.

Fingers crossed they have a firmware fix!

ok thanks for your answer, I will open a support ticket right now

hope the firmware will solve the problem, without a tricky solution just to avoid them to be responsible of a hardware malfunction ...

FYI, I have my Sensitivity setting set to 0 and I’m not experiencing this, so it’s definitely capable of working flawlessly.

Hi

I have updated Push/Live to the most recent version and I'm still having the same crosstalk problems.

Is this the case for everyone else?

Thanks

I never had the issue in the first place, so I dont think it affects everyone.

That doesnt mean its a hardware issue for sure, eg the issue with the ribbon strip looked like hardware to some of those affected but was actually fixed in firmware. So it could be interplay between firmware/calibration and the differing sensitivities of different peoples hardware, in which case you could still hope for a firmware fix in future. Not certain though.
