1 track with several drumracks vs. Seperate tracks

Post by OlivierPenu » Sat Sep 23, 2023 3:57 pm

Hello

What would be the most efficient way to organise a live set with multiple drumracks (12-16 racks for different songs)?
Is it better to have all the tracks in a group on 1 track or would it be better to have them all on seperate tracks?

Also: what would be an efficient way of processing them through effects? Using the sends and returns or put specific effects per drumrack and automate them to only be on when selected?

Thanks!

If you're only going to use one drumrack at a time I'd put them all on one track, group them and automate turning them on/off so that only the one you need is on. As for FX, if you want different ones for each rack, you could put the FX after each rack, within the group, and again automate turning them on/off. Or if you need just one set for all the racks you can put them on the track, or as a send.
