17 years later. Same bug.

Sorry for reviving an old topic(viewtopic.php?t=41818&sid=5282d8f3511f2 ... 6582725f5). But it's something that still bothers me and other users because it remains unfixed.
For me, I think this happens around 35% of the times when starting playback in the arrangement view by clicking the beat time ruler and the speaker icon appears at the mouse using either an actual mouse or even the touch pad. Playback starts but immediately after clicking the green triangle appears at the start position as if I clicked twice (but clicked once). This typically results in Live playing one bar and then starting over at the initial click position. This is super distracting, and annoying, especially in songs with low BPM and long measures like 9/4, as it eats up lots of time in these contexts. It does not happen when starting playback using a controller or when first selecting a play position in any track and then hitting spacebar.

My mouse is new. Running Ableton 11.3.13 on a 2019 16" Macbook Pro with 16 GB RAM, 2,6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, but I've experienced this issue with all my previous Live setups.

The weird thing to me is that after 17 years this seeming bug is still there, and I am pondering on how simple the fix would be, since it feels like Live just registers two mouse clicks when I explicitly press once. -Something I don't experience in other software contexts where double clicking results in different behaviours.

Has anyone who has been frustrated with or noticed this alleged bug found a solution? Would love to hear it.

Make sure your mouse is not double-clicking because of a button sensor malfunction. It's a notorious issue for mice. I have the same issue and it has always been a double-click issue for me. There a free utilities to minimize/fix sensor-based double-clicks.
