Newly installed VSTs not showing up in Browser

Post by nova2wl » Fri Mar 29, 2024 9:49 pm

Past couple of days I have been seeing an issue where newly installed VSTs are not showing up in browser even though they are installed in the default location. All my previous plugins are working fine. Even after restarts and full plugin scans, they do not show. Weird thing is that when I do a full scan from settings, down in the Info View pane where it shows the status of the scan, I see the names of the plugins but they never appear in the browser.

I have tested with a few different plugins and also tested with a plugin (Vital) where I un-installed it, re-installed it, and it still doesn't show. Seems like AU versions of plugins are working however.

My system:
M1 Mac Sonoma
Ableton 12.0.1

Steps I have done:
Rescan Plugins
Full Rescan of Plugins
Tried custom folder of VSTs instead of default
Restart of both Live and Mac
Ran a file disk permission fix on harddrive

Not sure what else to do, anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried this: Deep-rescan all installed plug-ins. To start a deep rescan, hold ALT/Option and click "Rescan."

Running Native. But just to see if anything changed, ran it in Rosetta mode but still the same issue.

I was testing with crystal(older), Vital, Tyrelle from uhe (both have worked previously). But I just bought addictive drums 2 and the vsts worked for that and another FX plugin.

Very odd issue. Only thing I can think of is maybe some sort of file permission issue with the vst folder.

Tyrell from U-He has never been Apple Silicon native so most likely you've run Ableton Live under Rosetta before

Please check your plugins and make sure that you're using the latest Apple Silicon native versions, or start Ableton Live using Rosetta
