Re: [Video]Ableton12 devoured CPU as Mac microphone usage icon flashing
Forgive me if I’m wrong, I think this is to do with a setting in Mac System Settings Audio for background noise isolation, or voice isolation.
Turning this off fixes it apparently.
Sorry for the vague answer, still on Monterey here, I saw a post where someone had a similar problem.
Hope this is some help.
Edit: have a look here: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/ ... put-Issues

My microphone setting is correct and I am getting this problem consistently when I move around in Ableton or open windows. I'm on Ableton 11 does that matter?

Agree, this has been happening on and off for almost a year now, ever since I got the new Mac. It really sucks. I can't believe it's not fixed yet but unsure if it's Ableton or Apple. For me it will happen when I add a new plugin or track and Ableton has to update it's buffer/delay size or something along those lines ... absolutely has to do with the stupid apple security measures. it then gets stuck in this security loop trying to establish the microphone input and it keeps failing and keeps looping, failing to actually close the loop. Sometimes lasts 2 seconds, sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes it doesn't stop and I have to quit. It's incredibly annoying and happens in non-CPU intensive sessions for sure.

This works until you need to record obviously lol then you need to turn it back on.beato_lx wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 8:18 pmWorked for me:askthe kid wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:31 pmim having the same problem after updating to Sonoma. any solution yet?

Re: [Video]Ableton12 devoured CPU as Mac microphone usage icon flashing
This absolutely is not a SOLUTION to this stupid issue. Ugh I'm plagued with it because I purchased this stupid M3 Max MacBook with 128 gb of ram with fully maxed out everything, and am constantly running into the audio cutting out. I am horrified at the thought of this happening during a live performance let alone recording with one of the more well known artists I work with. This is outright embarrassing and unacceptable. The reason why this solution is not actually a solution is because when you have mics and instruments plugged into your audio interface, you won't be able to use them....... This really needs to be addressed and I don't know if it's on Ableton or if its with apple, but I'm so sick and tired of all these issues with the new apple silicon chips YUCKbeato_lx wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 8:18 pmWorked for me:askthe kid wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:31 pmim having the same problem after updating to Sonoma. any solution yet?

As I'm using 2 Macs with Apple Silicon with no issues at all this must be solvable...wthezzy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 8:12 amThis absolutely is not a SOLUTION to this stupid issue. Re: [Video]Ableton12 devoured CPU as Mac microphone usage icon flashing
Yeah I'm in the EXACT same boat. Updated last last year to the highest end MacBook available, have been plagued with issues since. It seems to be the interaction with buffer size and mic permissions -- it often happens for me when opening certain plugins (not resource intensive, just Ableton has to kind of re-calibrate its delay compensation) and then it gets stuck in this loop. Some heavier sessions, though, it actually indefinitely gets stuck in the loop and I have to force quit. I've got a whole studio setup with UAD Apollo gear and about a million plugins, so it's been really hard to nail down if there even is a particular culprit. have you noticed any patterns on your end?wthezzy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 8:12 amThis absolutely is not a SOLUTION to this stupid issue.
