Push3 on 12 vs 11
Any particular advantages to using Push 3 in version 12 vs 11? I ask because while I like the controller, there are issues outlined in posts below that I hope to be fixed eventually and my feeling is that Ableton will prioritize 12 and perhaps leave 11 behind. I’m stuck on 11 for now for OS and “legacy “ plugins but it did occur to me that I might put 12 on a newer Mac and house those plugins on a separate Mac at some point when 11 is fully abandoned.
Re: Push3 on 12 vs 11
I don’t think you gave anything to worry about in 11, even for the full life cycle of your projects from idea to final bounce down. Many of the navigation features came to push 2 with these updates, and Push 3 was launched on 11, had a release schedule that matched every update of 11, and updates to 11 are continuing to be released, if I’m not mistaken. So nothing that you may already have is abandoned. If it’s stable, and you’re satisfied, use it.
That said, the difference are obviously features more so in Live 12 than in additional functionality on Push 3. And the complaints on here really need not be cautionary. Posts by nature are going to be disproportionately from situations where something went awry. And yes, there are a few of us who just want to chat and get some tips and tricks. This is referred to as the base-rate fallacy. So the thing does work, and the weeding will only be that much more thorough when you decide to make the switch.
