audio not updating after RX editing

Post by Razzkazz » Thu Jun 06, 2024 7:40 am

I have iZotope's RX10 set up to be my external editor. After editing and saving edits made in RX and returning to Live, very often the audio does not update to reflect the changes. I have to click the edit button again, the file opens again in RX, I close it (no save needed), and then the audio file in Live updates. Not sure if this is a Live or RX problem, but it's annoying. Anyone else come across this? Maybe it also happens when using external editors other than RX?

Yep, that's due to a very old bug:
once your audio is open in RX, if you put focus back to or select Live at any time it will "break" the link/connection between the 2 programs.
It's easy to see as the waveform in Live's detail clip view comes back as it happens (while the waveform "disappears" as soon as you click Live's Edit button to open it in RX or whatever editor).
Since you mentioned using 2 monitors, this probably happens instantly as you click the Edit button and the file is open in RX on your 2nd screen.

Does my explanation make sense ?
