Ableton Live 12 free trial not opening

Just downloaded the 30 day free trial for AL 12, but it simply isn't opening. Seemed to install ok, but when I click on the icon (both in my applications folder, and the one I dragged down to the dock) it just doesn't open (?)
I'm on a 2015 MBP running Big Sur 11.7.10

Have deleted the trial. Can't be arsed to try and figure it out right now. Will wait til it's hopefully sorted..

The topic gandalf458 refers to is about Windows and the specific requirements for that OS.
You are running macOS, and your laptop meets the system requirements, so it should run Live 12.
I can't determine the issue from here. Perhaps a security setting is blocking it.

I tried again; deleted it and re-downloaded it.
