The Decade Old Request: Macro + Math Expressions / Tension Curves

Ableton Live's macros can be very powerful as I've made extremely useful racks for production, however, coming from FL Studio, I really appreciated how you can add math expressions to certain parameters and macros, similar to how you can adjust certain curves of mappings in Xfer Serum's matrix view:





And for the few who have already tried working around it, have to resort to using some sort of Max4Live device made for this specific purpose. Having to go through the trouble with workarounds for better macros only makes the producing experience feel much more janky imo.

It'd be great to have some of the math expression / curves implemented somewhere around where we already can adjust the min/max values of our macros:



There's even this post from over a decade ago that has literally zero replies requesting the same feature.

It's about time Live caught up.

This sounds like a great idea.

I'd love to see this implemented in Live for the extra expressiveness it would bring to the macros. Having something more than a simple linear action on the knobs would go a long way towards making macros play better.

Ableton really needs this, there's a ton of stuff I've always wanted to do with a macro curve in Ableton's native effect rack macros.

yeah, honestly at this point I enjoy seeing FL have more technical pro features than Ableton. I don't even use FL but I see the humour in the situation. What do you think ableton, mapping curves in 2035? too soon?
