Ableton Live and Roland SI-24

Post by Yawgmoth » Mon Aug 08, 2005 2:29 pm

Hello people,

I use a SI-24 ( http://www.rolandce.com/productinfo/pro ... ?Welke=197) too record audio into Ableton Live (5). Besides that this unit can be used as a midicontroler. It holds presets for Logic, Cubase, Protools and you can input, if wanted two templates off your own setup. Within Ableton Live I've made comunication between the hardware unit and the Ableton software. As a example I can control the volume of a audio track without any problem. Until this point I'm happy with the setup.

But if I use the buttons on the SI-24 to mute tracks (both audio and midi), the tracks won't "unmute" if I hit a button for the 2nd time. When I push the button the track "unmutes" but if I let go it mutes again

As i read the manual, page 242 says that this object is a switch and a switch kan be triggered with a note-on message. Page 242 also tells me that I can give the object in Live any type off midicontrole (see screenshot).

How do I solve this? I've configured the object as all of the avalible mdicontrolers, this doesn't help.

Has anyone with a Roland or Edirol controler had this problem?

the button you press sends a note on message when you press it.
Then a not off message when you press it again.
You need to set it up so that it sends the note off when you release the button.

Cheers

It's a piece of hardware without the posibility too configure it, besides it's presets and 2 user configs. So it's not posible to hang a specifike type midi command too a hardware button. My hopes are the Live is able too do so...someway.[/quote]
