12.1 and no video/post love. Zero.

I use Ableton on a daily basis for a living, professional work. Scoring to video is fast, beautiful, smart and elegant. There also are a few really basic features missing, bread and butter. They make working against video, in certain situations, something clumsy and cumbersome. We don't have them and while Ableton knows this it doesn't seem to change anything.I don't understand the reason why, there is a huge post market that would love to use Ableton but is being stopped because of this. With each release, I hope this is being addressed, but no...

Ableton, to use this tool in a solid and reliable way to score to picture and do post production work, we need:

1_Latency compensation for video elements. What you see, is what it sounds. Using a plugin that adds latency will make playback video reproduction out of sync. Really hard to work like that.

2_Lock clips to absolute SMPTE time. If you change the tempo of a project in the middle of a creative process, all absolute timings of clips will change. In a project that has music and sfx (which happens a lot while working), this creates all sort of problems.

3_Export project as MIDI file. Version 12 and this is not possible. Pretty self explanatory.

Thanks for reading, best.
