automatically "Assign Track Color to Clips" by default?

Post by RV15 » Tue Jul 16, 2024 9:21 am

Hi
i didn't found anything on this , is there any option to set the "Assign Track Color to Clips" to color each clip that added to a specific track, to the same track color by default? meaning i wouldn't have to right click on the track and then click the "Assign Track Color to Clips" in the menu each time:

there might be a "options.txt" attribute for this  ?

I'm not sure how old your version of Live is, but in Live 12 (and probably 11) under Theme & Colors in Settings, there's a setting called "Clip Color" and you need to set it to "Track Color". This will automatically set clips to the track color

hi,
i'm using Live 12.
i have set it (it was already set) to "Track Color" but it's painting only midi that created within the track , if for example i am copying midi clip from other track lane it doesn't paint the clip to the track color

my suggestion is to have a feature that will always keep the assign track color on, even when i copy clips from other lanes (the green will be come purple as soon as i paste the clip from the green track)

Hello,

My program https://coryboris.gumroad.com/l/TrueAutoColor does precisely what you are suggesting. Clip colors will always change to the track color of the track they are in, whether they are dragged in a new track, or if the track has a name or keyword as defined in the color layout made by the user.

Even if you don't name your track anything, the clip color will still respect track color.

People have really liked the free version which only colors tracks based on name but I really think you would find the full version helpful here.
