The release of MPC 3 immediately made me think about what a linear time line would look like on Push 3.
One thing that sprung to mind that I never thought of before was that the midi clip editor seems to be what it could somewhat look like, ie: the piano roll would represent the tracks and the notes would represent the clips…
…i do hope we get one eventually, hopefully the release of MPC 3 could motivate that innovation.
MPC 3 vs Push 3
Re: MPC 3 vs Push 3
This is 100% speculation on my part, but there is one thing that makes me think it’s always been part of the plan, and one thing that makes me think it’s coming soon:
1) the Push 3’s jogwheel. It’s useful for a lot of things, but it would be especially useful for navigating long, linear timelines.
2) the new keyboard shortcuts for editing automation in 12.1. They’re good accessibility features on desktop, but it’s not hard to imagine how the workflow could translate to Push.

Re: MPC 3 vs Push 3
Well, considering what can be seen on the MPC3 beta page https://www.akaipro.com/mpc3, this looks like a huge leap forward, especially with the arranger mode. I wonder if there will be a similar answer on the Push 3. I have been looking for an arrangement view since I bought it and I still feel this is one of the main missing features as of today.

I'd love to hear first hand opinions/experiences about how these compare.
