any way to "dumb down" Ableton's sequencing?
love ableton to death but always wondered if there is any way to make it do simplistic step sequencing like my ob3erheim OB-6 used to do where i'd hit "record" and just hit notes in sequence and it ould just play those notes in that sequence without any regard for how the notes were played with regards to the other notes just like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and it played them at the same bpm you had it set to, if you got REAL tricky you could get it to skip a step but ther than that it just played whatever notes you hit looped over and over step sequenced very fast and very simple, i always found it very inspirtiona. if anyone knows how to do this plase let me know vs. getting all "modern" and "feture packed" where it plays what you play and you can quantize it but i just want it to snap what i play to a generic 1/2/3/4 type step sequencing thats just the same BPM as the track (for that MIDI track anyway).

Is step recording at all what you're looking for? (Even if it's not exactly what you're looking for, you might find it useful.)

Unfortunately i only ave ableton 11 and no money/income to get 12 but i'd like to try tat out.

but yea i mainly just mean be able t hut keys regardless of timing and have them just play back in the order i hit them but in a rigid simplistic timing that's just like 1/2/3/4/1/2/3/4/1/2/3/4/1/2/3/4.like a VERY simplistic early sequencer
