Keeping an Ableton instrument in focus

Post by diegux » Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:43 pm

I am using an external sequencer (Drambo) which controls Ableton via MIDI.
5 tracks, each one routed to a different MIDI channel control 5 MIDI tracks in Ableton.
All goes well BUT...
One Ableton track has an operator instrument on it which of course cannot be detached or opened to another window. There is another track that has heavy automation via cc control, so it keeps sending cc messages to Ableton all the time and this makes it steal focus from Operator.
Actually, Im trying to play live operator turning some knobs from Drambo but cannot see what I am doing because focus is shifting all the time to another track.
Question is: How can I keep focus in the track that has operator, I don;t want it to change focus to the track that is recieving MIDI information.

I hope I made myself clear, thanks for the help. best!

Did you maybe, by accident, map a midi message (note or cc) to the track header? Every time your sequencer sends that message, that track will come in focus. Hit cmnd M and see if there is something in the track header.
