Recently I have discovered how to reproduce what happens to me with stacks and makes it less productive.
Here are the steps:
Make sure that Scale is on at Clip and Global level and make it C Major.
Insert a new clip into a slot with a synth.
Double Click on Root and Inversion knobs. You should obtain a C3 and Inversion 0.
Add a new chord by pressing on the + , make it a D3 (it should read Dmin)
Add a new chord by pressing on the + , make it a E3 (it should read Emin)
Add a new chord by pressing on the + , make it a G3 (it should read Gmaj) - scroll the Tonnetz to obtain a G7
Play the clip.
Insert a new clip into a Drum Track
Select the clip in the drum track
Go to rhythm and generate a Kick drum (whatever). pattern.
Go back to the previous synth track and select the clip.
Pls notice that the settings of the clip in regards to stack are lost. In my case I have a sequence of 4 chords with the latter different from the previous three (where I had a G7) but starting with B0. If you touch anything you will mess up the clip.
What I observed can likely be a bug but should Stacks settings for a clip be retained in a Project or are they supposed to be reset each time another clip is selected?
If I am getting it wrong, ok. Now I know the workaround. However It would be great to save stacks with the clip so that if while composing, at a later time, you need to change a chord in the sequence / progression that would be easier.
Let me know if you can reproduce.
Let me know if that already happened to you.
@Ableton : Pls consider this also an enhancement request.
Thanks a lot
