Can't drag audio to desktop

I am running Live Suite 11.2 on a 2015 Macbook Pro.
One of the ways I use Ableton is to record lots of audio clips, and then drag them (from the clip view) into a folder on my desktop. Then I send those files onto my Norns shield, or Airdrop them to my ipad,...
Anyway, just now I was dragging a batch of audio clips onto the desktop, as I often do, no problem, and then after about 12 files, I could no longer drag any more. They just wouldn't move. I opened a different project, containing audio clips, to see if it worked with a different project, but they wouldn't drag either (?)
It's weird that it just suddenly stopped working, midway through...

Any thoughts?

Just try the obvious stuff first.

Quit and reopen Live.

If that doesn’t work, quit Live, restart computer, reopen Live.
