So I'd like to take my vinyl samples and start prepping them for the Push 3S by slicing them and then storing them in a folder. Sometimes I'd like to keep them as a simpler and other times convert them to a drum rack, depending on how nuanced the different chops need to be.
But I always run into a hurdle in trying to create a folder of prepared samples. If I save a preset of the simpler or rack it doesn't save the sample in the same place. I tried making a regular folder in the library with a samples folder inside of it, and the presets in the parent folder, but it still didn't automatically connect to the sample.
So is it really the case that either each chop is a whole live set in order for Ableton to keep them together. Or if I made the whole "work surface" project a template where I do my slicing, the presets would be in the user library for that project??
But, the sampler presets that are listed under the Sampler instrument, seem to immediately get pulled up with their sample contained therein.
Ultimately, I'd like to be on the go and open a blank project on the push, sample something or bring in a sample and slice it and then save that to the pool of material to play with live. I want to put in my prep time separate from working on any particular song or live set and have that work be ready for whatever comes up. Even the ASR-10 let me save prepared samples as instruments, separate from songs or sequences.
What am I missing?
(This issue applies to having drum loops simply prepared as loops, not even chops, as well...)
