Hi,
I see in the search a few people have had some issues with these mixers, but is anyone here using them (or the 16/24) as an audio interface and having a good experience with it?
It seems like it would be a great interface if you have a lot of instruments. They claim it integrates with live so all the faders transport controls and knobs can control what is in Ableton. Not that I need another audio interface, but I was considering upgrading my old Beringer mixer which I am using to mic a drum kit, then I came accross the Tascam and see it is also an audio interface. It also makes sense for a mixer to be an audio interface that fully integrates with your daw these days, cause I mean, why not? It's 2025 after all.
Anyone using Tascam 12 as an interface?
Re: Anyone using Tascam 12 as an interface?
I use the Model 12 with Live 12. No issues. It’s great to have a wide choice of inputs. I tend to keep my guitar interfaces, drum machine, DI box for bass plugged in all the time to avoid interrupting the flow when I am on a roll. Sadly being in the zone is getting harder and harder as I get older.
I think the Model 12 is a solid unit and the preamps are great. Of course not on the level of a Neve or Apogee, but gets the job done.

I have the unit and while I don't use it as a control surface, it's pretty nice for my needs and has a wide range of routing capabilities. Can serve as a stand-alone recording interface as well, which I find pretty handy when I just don't want to plug in my pc to record a bassline.
