Linux?

Post by callumjohnspiller » Wed Jun 04, 2025 9:46 am

I know this has been posted sometime in the past, but is there any indication that Ableton Live will get a Linux release/support?

I appreciate that WiNE exists, however every time I have tried to run Ableton with it is has been a horrible experience with many latency issues for larger projects.

With the advent of SteamOS and a bunch of other Linux-based competitors to the ever-worsening Windows, surely Ableton must be considering a Linux release soon?

The only thing keeping me from migrating to Linux fully is the fact that Ableton isn't supported there; I'm fully bought-in to Ableton so could never migrate to Linux fully because of that. The audio experience on Windows is truly awful and I am constantly having to troubleshoot driver conflicts.

Ableton if you're out there, please consider giving Linux a proper release! I'm certain that with the proper support the performance will drastically beat out Windows.
