This is for adding corrective EQ or other effects to headphones or speakers.
It would go in the 'Output Config' section of Audio Device settings. (Maybe for inputs too, but it's less needed there.)
Each stereo pair would get effect slots where you could add either native effects or 3rd party ones (VST or AU).
It would affect all playback sound coming out of Live, but it obviously wouldn't affect rendered audio.
