Automation and Modulation selectors en Mode SESSION

Hello.
My problem is the following.
It concerns Session mode.
It concerns the "Automation" and "Modulation" selectors for clips in "Envelopes" mode.
When I select an M4L device in certain scenarios that I can't define, these two selectors disappear.
Is this a bug?

What Max device, what parameter?
Maybe the parameter is not automatable.
