Hey everyone,
I'm encountering a significant CPU overload issue since the most recent update to version 12.2.1. Whenever I create a new project, my computer's CPU usage spikes, causing major pauses and audio dropouts (pops).
To troubleshoot, I tried using the default Ableton template (as I created my own template) to rule out any VST-related conflicts, but the problem persists. This issue only occurs when starting a new file in version 12.2.1; I can open old projects created in version 12.1 and save them as 12.2 files without any CPU problems and play them just fine.
The CPU overload happens even when the new project is empty and nothing is playing. This is preventing me from creating any new music. I have already tried redownloading and reinstalling version 12.2.1, but the issue remains. Not sure what it is, anyone gotten similar?
On Windows and know my Pc isn't the problem:

CPU Overload - Weird Occurences
Re: CPU Overload - Weird Occurences
Hello,
I have the same issues ..simple cant do anything as i am distracted by the CPU meter jumping wildly up to 70/80 % with just simple 4 track project !! These all seems to come from 12.2 update. Put the Buffer 'up' to 1024 , sample rate 44100 etc etc
I have updated / checked everything i can think of ..but the issue persists. I have nothing running in the background
Can anyone give some advice ? Is this a know issue with the latest updates ?
Thank you.
On Windows
Focusrite scarlet 4i4 ( i have checked for the latest drivers - all good )

Re: CPU Overload - Weird Occurences
I contacted support directly, they said it was odd since I was still receiving it even on default template. Has to be an Ableton issue. No issues on 12.1
Re: CPU Overload - Weird Occurences
Im having trouble in Live 11, despite using high performance, disabling windows defender etc etc, even raising the buffer does not seem to help, I still get random CPU spikes from time to time. Sometimes almost none for a whole day and sometimes a lot. Finally using an external audio interface did not seem to help either
EDIT: I have to do more testing, but unlocking the option in power settings to be able to set a minimum amount of unparked cores and then setting it to 80% instead of the default 4% looks very promising!
