Hi,
Why does the latest Live Suite scan both plugins and files on every startup? I read that the newest version should only perform this scan once for better performance, but on my system it happens every time I launch Live.
Each startup causes a sudden CPU spike while I’m working on music, and I have to wait until the scan finishes—sometimes 5 minutes or more. I haven’t moved any folders or installed new plugins recently, and I never had this issue with Live 12.0.
Best regards,
Tim

Do you have any cloud-based folder in your Places?

Hi Jur
I haven't enabled that folder yet since im not using it, it's greyed out. Ive just tried to create a default setup without any plugins at all and it is the same problem, it keeps re-scanning for plugins but the scanning for places has been better after deleting a lot of old live version folders, dont know why I got them since I install new versions with a replacement. Im on Mac mini M1 16gb 1tb latest OS.
I do have a lot of plugins but 1 scan should be enough for live. Thanks in advance for your help :)
Ive tried to uninstall live completely and reinstall, it still continues to scan plugins and also suddenly scan places with causes high cpu spikes and makes it impossible to make music as long it scans, very annoying never had this problem before and haven't installed new plugins or changed my setup for a while so its weird...

Re: Live 12.2 scans with every startup and cause High cpu spike
Solved my problem
I did have some messy files in my VST3 folder, Folder with old Arturia collection files so I had double Arturia VST,s and I had a folder called "rollbackBackupDirectory" that I deleted.
All these files also made my Komplete Kontrol nearly non functioned, everything is working fine now and Live only scans for a very few seconds
