Push 3S with RME CC audio interface

Post by Jens Burkert » Fri Nov 28, 2025 5:14 pm

Hi,

I’m using a Push 3 in standalone mode. With the new 12.3 update, it should now support class-compliant audio interfaces. I’m considering buying an RME Fireface UFX III so I can work without having to use a DAW.

Does anyone have experience with a similar setup?

Thanks in advance.

Jens

If it's class compilant then it should work. The feature is still very new though and I'm sure it'll need some ironing out in the upcoming months. But the Fireface UFX III has ADAT, and P3 supports ADAT since day 1 so you'll have this option has a backup (or even as your main method, actually).
But let's see if someone with this interface can provide some feedback.

I'm using the Arturia Audiofuse 16RIg. Arturia does not officially consider it USB class-compliant, but it works. I get 34 inputs and outputs, plus the built in USB hub works with my iConnectivity MIDI interface.

There are still a few very minor bugs, and not all interfaces work yet, but Ableton seems to be working fast with beat updates to address these.

I'll be super happy if they add 'presets' or 'default settings' instant recall for external interfaces. Right now, you still have to resect the interface and I/O channels when you turn on Push.

I purchased an RME Digiface USB with the announcement of the new class compliant firmware. This works fine with my linux laptop but push 3 does not recognize it at all. I am hoping to connect it to 2 BoredBrain Optx V2s for more modular IO but in theory it should have at least 32/32. Anyone else try this?
