No Input in Ableton

I am an experienced user but this happened Out of the blue, I plug my guitar in the Clarett 4Pre USB. Ableton is configured to receive the signal but nothing. It records a flatliner.

I made a test with Quicktime and now it recorded the guitar signal from Clarett. No problem.

In the focusrite control, I see the signal is coming in. But the output from the sofware playback has no signal.

I updated all the software to the latest version.

Does anybody has a clue?

Solved: it was a permission thing in OS. The permission for the mic has to be turned on. Otherwise OS will not allow to record audio. Also from a soundcard apparently, which is different then a mic.
