Bits missing in imported MP3's

I noticed that Live has on several occasions imported an mp3 with some glitches. In particular, a very small part of the clip would be missing.

I confirmed that Live did this because it's not in the Mp3 and once, after making a duplicate of the mp3 under a different name and reimporting it into Live i put the two imported tracks side by side in the arrangement view and I could clearly see the first one was missing a close to 1/8th of a beat.

I had this prob.

I installed Quicktime and it MAY have gone away
