I noticed a difference between Ableton Live 11 and Ableton Live 12 regarding channel meter levels when warping audio.
In both versions, if a track plays at its original BPM and the channel fader is set to 0 dB, the channel meter stays around 0 dB.
However, in Ableton Live 12 I observe the following behavior:
If I enable Warp and change the BPM even slightly (for example +1 or +2 BPM), the channel meter increases and sometimes shows peaks around +1 or +2 dB.
Important detail:
If the BPM remains exactly the same as the original track BPM, the meter stays around 0 dB as expected.
Another observation:
Even though the meter shows +1 or +2 dB when BPM changes, the perceived loudness of the track does not sound noticeably louder.
Additionally, I also notice that when using Warp Mode Complex, the audio sometimes sounds slightly compressed or degraded when the BPM is changed. This effect feels more noticeable compared to Ableton Live 11.
My questions are:
1. Is this normal behavior in Ableton Live 12 when warping audio and slightly changing BPM?
2. Has the warping or metering algorithm changed compared to Live 11?
3. Could this be related to transient or peak detection differences during time-stretching?
4. Has the Complex warp algorithm been changed in Live 12 compared to Live 11?
I am preparing DJ sets in Ableton Live and want to keep track levels consistent when warping tracks.

This can be unnoticeable peaks (because there's just too quick); it can also be due to phase shifting especially in the low end (which I suspect is the "culprit" here).
The eyes and hears' perception aren't always in synced!
Yes. I can't remember in which version exactly though (but release notes are your friend if you're curious about this).
