Envelope follower mappings

I apologize if this is asked frequently, but I searched through threads here and found nothing.
Is there a way to see what parameters an envelope follower is controlling? If I dig up an old project I am not likely to recall. The buttons in the multimap pane seem to store the name, but "7 Gain B" isn't too suggestive. I thought maybe hovering over the button would show the destination in the status bar but I don't see anything there.
I wonder if there is something like the macro mapping pane that appears with audio racks? Or is there a workaround or trick to this by using an audio rack? I feel like I'm missing something and starting to feel pretty silly

It works the other way around: if you click a mapped parameter, the Status bar will tell "this device, in this track" is controlling this parameter. It's not ideal, I know, but that's what we have for the time being.

Got it- that helps!
Maybe a sign to calm down on my mapping.... just started using it in earnest and most certainly going overboard.

that would be sad!
You can rename devices with information about the mappings, or use the Info View maybe (right-click a device's header > "edit info text")
Or use a notepad type M4L device.

put the envelope follower next to the device you modulate and use the sidechain input.

i guess my issue is i do a good amount of mapping to tracks external to the envelope follower. ie have the reverb tail of something affected by the synth, etc

i haven't used info view much! this is a perfect tip, not just for this issue either

This only works for macro mappings.
For mappings by modulators, you must right-click the control. You'll then see "Show Modulation Source #", followed by the modulator's name. When you click on it, it jumps to that modulator.
Unfortunately, there is no way to see exactly what a modulator is modulating.

You meant REMOTE mappings, right?
You're right, it's not working when it's mapped in "mod" mode.
With both mapping method the right-click method is available, though.
