5.0.1 Warping Issues

Post by paulkeeley » Sat Aug 13, 2005 8:08 pm

2 issues with the clip warping algorithms that i have found with 5.0.1:

1.) Texture:
when using a 'grain size' value of 0 and a 'flux' value of 100, when pitching the clip, the clip plays for 1 second, and then drops out, displaying an orange (D) in the hard disk drop-out indicator at the top right of the screen

2.) Complex:
when one clip is set to the 'complex' algorithm and looped, audible clicks are heard when any other simultaneously playing clips loop (including the complex'ed clip). all samples have the 'fade' box highlighted. when the one clip using the 'complex' algorithm is set to any of the other algorithms, the loop clicking disappears.

system specs:
p4 2.4ghz, 1gb ram, 7200rpm hdd, m-audio firewire410 audio

Glad you posted about the second point about complex mode causing audio hiccups, I saw the same on my system, but assumed it was due to my older G4 system, not that the CPU meter was only around 50% while these artifacts happened. --Kent

I have the same problem even when CPU usage is low. There often is a hiccup when the loop loops and warping is set to complex. Now I'm simply not using "complex" anymore and waiting for an update where the problem is fixed.

I realized that complex is very expensiv on my machine. a single loop in complex brings the cpu usage up close to 10%.
Is this intended to be that expensiv or is this indicating a problem?
