Midi to Hardware Synths

Hi Y'all,

I'n new te the program and have a problem that i can't seem to figure out.

Is it possible to send midi CC from my hardware via Live to my hardware?
(e.g whem i make a midi clip that play's a lead sound from my CS6x, i want to use the filter cutoff knob to tweak the filter while live is playing)

The only way i can do this now is when i record enable the midi track, of if i change the input monitor from auto to on but then the clip is no longer playing.

I think with a program like this it schould be possible to tweak the controllers of the connected hardware when live is playing.
A program like cubase or logic just puts the midi data thru on the track that's selected.

Can anyone help me out? , am i doing something wrong?

I set the remote inputs in the preferences......
