Does Ableton uses to much of your cpu?

Does ableton uses to much of your cpu? I use the same amount of plug-ins for Cubase and the cup usage doesn't move.

Is there a work around for this or do you guys just freeze every track? How many people freeze everything because this is what I am thing about doing.

5 seems to be more heavy, also the cpu meter is out by 10-20%
im freezing most things just to get by
