Realtime loop recording quantization on the fly.

Post by laserbeak43 » Sat Sep 10, 2005 4:32 pm

Hi there.
i have a looping problem when it comes to recording midi.
i know how to set up a clip to record a loop and i know how to do that
while live is still playing.

but, i cant seem to get the quantization right.
i want it to start at position 1.1.1 but everytime i record, even with
a setting of 1/32 im still a 1/4 note late.

this just wont do for live performances. any suggestions.
p.s. my asio drivers give 2 ms latency so that shouldnt be the problem.

set the global or clip quantize to something easier, like 1/8, that way you should be able to trigger the recording to start in the right place.

i've heard of global quantise a million times over but the only thing i se is groove settings
aside from that i started at 1/8 then did 1/16 then 1/32 same results

The global quantize is the meter division set in the control bar at the top of your screen. You might really try setting it to 1 bar. You can use Ctrl-9/Command-9 to set it to 1-bar quantization as well.
