disable your damn spacebar
disable your damn spacebar
did the unthinkable last night during a banging set - hit the f8kin space bar. well the music stopped briefly and i was so rattled that hitting shift-space bar didn't do anything or i didn't do it...
either way, i blame me for hitting the space bar. don't think it was Live 5.01
so Monday Moral of the Day - use that little proggie that disables your space bar.
onwards and upwards...

Re: disable your damn spacebar
Why didn't you just wait 4 beats and hit space again dramatically?

If you're giving the crowd a wireless keyboard to play with, disable the space bar or remove it!
And obviously don't give them access to any important functions. You can use the alt- or alt-shift combinations that don't get used much, and let them play with beat-repeat, delays, EQ kills, etc with those keys.
Be careful not to let them know just how easy it is...

another one that scares me is the F10 ("back to arrangement") button. if you press it while you're playing clips in session view and your arrangement is empty, you'll get... silence, and, even worse, all your clips will stop, so it will be difficult to build up something again.
so i'm thinking of filling the arrangement view with a couple of clips (have to be the length of a gig though).

ctrl-shift-i is a good habit to get into for that - takes snapshots of all the clips you have playing and puts them in a new scene...peeddrroo wrote:another one that scares me is the F10 ("back to arrangement") button. if you press it while you're playing clips in session view and your arrangement is empty, you'll get... silence, and, even worse, all your clips will stop, so it will be difficult to build up something again.
