I am running Pro Tools LE and Ableton Live 4 on a PowerBook G4 with 768MB of Ram.
Up until now I was running both programs independently. I would use Pro Tools for recording, editing and mixdowns and I would use Ableton like a stand alone sampler. I would record out of my internal mac soundcard into a mackie 1604 board, then to Pro Tools.
I just recently got an Echo Indigo I/O to use with Ableton. I wanted to be able to record my samples right into ableton to chop, edit, arrange, etc... I still like the sound I get mixing in Pro Tools, but I like the creative canvas of Ableton.
Is anyone using the Pro Tools & Ableton combo to create. How are you running your set-up??? I didn't like how rewire locked Abelton to Pro Tools in rewire mode, but maybe I didn't grasp its full potential.
What's the best way to get all my Ableton sounds into Pro Tools all seperated on different tracks for mixdown?
Thanks!
Anyone using Pro Tools & Ableton Rewired???

two ways to get all your seperate tracks into pro-tools from live.
1. rewire each channel in seperately... note that you will lose any vst fx along the way.
2. bounce down, or consolidate each channel (or subgroup), then load them into protools.... make sure that you have each one starting at the same place, so it's easy to line them up.
