Wave editing support?

I'm about to receive Live, but I just realized that it appears that Live is lacking wave editing features (cut, trim, fade, etc...). Is this planned for the future or near future? I think I really need to know.

you can already cut, trim and fade files in live 2 (and even 1). just drag chunks around, and adjust their volume and slide the edges, etc. if you really need crazy audio editing i suggest you check out samplitude, nuendo or pro tools

Can you cut in the middle of a file though? I know about the edges (I didn't know about the fades), but how about cutting a part out of a clip?

You can launch an external wave editor tho - I use the free version of Spark ME to slice and dice and add fx to loops and it works a treat.

In arrangermode you can cut slice & dice whereever you want, in sessionmode not -yet - ... I think it might be coming up in an upcoming major update with the 'resample/render in place' functionality that will allow to save clips 'in place' [with efx etx] ...

Mbazzy, your 100% correct, thanks. I am going to be looking foward to that render in place function you mentioned. I hope it will work similar to the way that Sonar can bounce clips in place with fx, automation, crossfades and all else.
