Soundcard recommendations...

Post by FatCat » Mon Oct 31, 2005 9:11 am

I've been using an echo indigo dj for the last 6 months which has been ok, however it's developed a nastle crackle on the headphone output, so it's going back. However, i'm somewhat regretting my choice as i really need a line input as well as 2 stereo outs, so i'm in the market for a new soundcard. Asio4all with the built in line input just doesn't cut it :-(

Any recommendations? I'm using a laptop so it's going to have to be firewire or USB.

I've been thinking about the m-audio audiophile firewire - but there's been quite a lot of slating in the forums. However, it's a bonus that you can run pro tools m powered with this interface. Is it worth the potential pain?

Any other suggestions? It needs to be reliable - i'm gigging at least once a week with it and the echo has never given me any hassle apart from this crackle.

Hi,

depends on your budget, but I'm extremelly happy with the RME multiface plus cardbus. Working @ 6ms latency, 8 inputs outpus, very nice. Only missing a hardwre knob for headphone volume, other than that, perfect and great sounding..
