Previous problem led to new one

Post by ebenextra » Fri Nov 04, 2005 4:19 am

I had a weird problem with Live recently, Please see: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28941

That problem seems to be fine, Live is stable again, no crashes. But the following problem is deffinately related, cos it started after Live became stable again...

After closing live, I think it stays in my pc memory. After closing the application, if i open Task Manager, Live is still listed under Processes. And claims to still use 92,144k(different value everytime, but way more than any other process)! This causes Windows not to be able to shut down at all!!! So, if i update windows, I can't restart... I have started up my pc and tried to shut down without having run Live in that session and it shuts down fine then.
So it is Live that stays in memory after usage and won't let my pc shut down.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening???

Info: P4 3.2 GHZ, !.75 Gb Ram, Asus p4p800vm Motherboard, Live %.02, X-station as interface

If you have pluggo installed, try uninstalling it.

Also try unplugging any midi devices and see if it still does it.

Those are two things that caused me the exact same issue.
