I will not have it. They must have alot of scousers working there. But I will not ever refer to music as scouse house. Eh?! Calm down.

its a disgrace. i live in liverpool and the amount of shops/bars/clubs that play this bollocks is nauseating.

it isn't a genre. to be a genre it has to be music. luckily there are a few select underground nights to compensate. believe me going to a breakcore night really unleashes the vibes :D

it's true uk bar/club scene is infected by the house disease , i have worked in clubs for the last 10 years & the only thing that brings women & guys with money is house music .if you start playing something a bit deeper or more artistic you end up selling bottles of water all night . the amout of council taxes a licensed venue has to pay is so huge that they give priority in having a big turnover at the expence of art .hous eis the music that make peoples spend .

it seems the biggest confusion is what gets called house. The stuff you're talking about sounds more like garage (in the NY sense) - real house music can be very underground in it's sound

its not so much house (which isnt my forte except for the detroit scene) but this pathetic "sub genre" that settles for the lowest denominator of dance music.

bah! let the babies have their bottles.

First of all there are far to many sub genres in electronic music. However, that being said there are many different forms of house and they are slightly different.

Also, it's kinda lame to trash an entire form of music. You may not like it, but others do or they wouldn't make the records. It just makes you seem bitter, and jealous which of course you are. You should spend your time on more positive things than saying "your music sucks mine is better, it's soooo much more technical." It just makes you look like an ass.

I hardly ever post here do to the negative, esoteric shit people spew here.

erm...? I'm not confusing the Garages - the point I was making was about the kind of house that gets called garage in the US - that's the stuff I dont like being referred to as house, not my bag, but any cheesy music that hijacks the name house can apply.

There's not really any way house would get confused with UK garage because it's a whole different beast altogether, and most of it is painful. Although if I hear any night or mix comp. described as "House and garage" I know it will be the kind of house I dont want to hear.

My favourite DJs describe themselves as house, but normally "underground house" which I suppose helps avoid confusion

None of it's technically house anyway unless it was played at the Warehouse in chicago, so we're all screwed.

:D

I don't like all styles/genres/types of music, but I try not to badmouth those that I don't like. Those that do just publicly air their own narrow-mindedness and insecurity.

If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

Live and let live.
