individual loop assignments to different locators

Post by August » Thu Nov 10, 2005 11:54 am

I would like to be able to assign "loop to next locator as a possible permanent assigment to different locators.

By that I mean I have locator A-B-C-D-E. B is assigned B to loop to C and D and I assign D to loop to E.
I hit A and it starts to play untill it reach B, here it automatically(my predefined assigment)starts to loops between B and C. Then I hit the Loop on/off bottom, and it continues to play until it reach D. Here it's automatically(my predefined assigment) starts to loop between D and E. Untill I hit the Loop on/off bottom and it will play further in the arrangement.

Like descriped in an earlier feature wish, I would like to be able to stamp effect paramteres to clips in arrangeview as well.

in the session view, you can achieve this using multiple clips. Just create multiple clips for the number of loops you want to create. Now just set up the "b to c loop", as you discribed, in clip 1, with loop on. now the music will begin at your startmarker "a", and loop until it comes into the loop brackets. here it will start to loop until you turn the "loop" button off. now the song continues until the part you want to loop called "d to e" for example. before it gets to this point start clip 2 wich starts with this loop. now it loops in clip 2 until you turn loop off in clip 2. this can be done as many times as you want.

I guess live has a more "modular" approach to this then you would like...

still iI wouldn't write off session "as a musician" just yet! I use it for production every day, and I love it! in here I create my sounds, loops and effect chains. Composition and recording I do in arrangement, playing them in session, when my palette of sounds is ready, and master everything in arrangement as well (off course).
