DIY monodeck-style controller

Post by netzstaub » Sun Nov 13, 2005 11:15 am

Hi, I built a monodeck-style controller using a microcontroller and lots of buttons and knobs. It works quite well, had a lot of fun with it on friday at a hardcore techno party. I used two tracks to play loops, assigned two rows of the controller to each track, with EQ, volume, play/stop, supatrigga buttons, filter, hi/lo kill switches, and send effects. I used a few of the other knobs and buttons to browse the clips, control the delay, bitcrusher, blablabla on the sends. Definitely enjoyable, though I think you're better off with a BCR-thing, as it took quite some time to build (one week), and I spent about 60 EUR in material costs. However I think that if you add more "weirdo" features to the controller, you can have something quite unique that you'll never be able to buy.
