problems loading 5.0 demo

I downloaded the demo and I just want to try out using live 5.0 but I press the icon the welcome screen comes on and it just doesnt go past creating live set. it just really slows down my pc and never loads the program. I am running a 2.2 ghz pc and shouldn't have any problems. any ideas?
