Master Tempo Question and Help

Post by A-Plus » Thu Nov 17, 2005 6:45 pm

ok so here's the problem...

I just finished a song that I made at 145 BPM. After I mixed it and everything, I played it out at a club and decided that I made it too fast. so I went to change the BPM down to 138, but now everything sounds seriously funny. everything is no longer in time with other parts and so on. especially my percussion.

I make all the sounds of my percussion on different tracks so I can EQ and compress them all seperately. all together on this track, I got about 12 differnent tracks running for percussion alone.

is there a way to change the BPM once a song is complete or do I have to go through and re-record all my percussion parts again?

Please help!!

thanx

check your warp mode, if you have nothing to warp in your clips. then turn it off, this should keep your clip originally set. otherwise youll have to reset your warpmarkers cause live is not always correct with putting em in the right place.

I have to ask you this.... If you have 12 tracks of percussion plus x other tracks how do you manage your set while playing a live gig? That is a lot of screen real estate to be looking at... Take no offence I'm just curious how you can do it and not train wreck...

oh....I actually don't use Ableton to perform live. I use Ableton only to put together my tracks before they are mastered. I find it very useful to put together short ideas on a whim and turn them into something much larger.
