will not upgrade next year unless...

i like live and was much excited by the additions in 4 and 5, but now that the honeymoon has worn off, there are a number of things that prevent me from thinking of it as better than, well, second class...

so here's the tip top of my wishlist:

1. freeze multiple outs (and take into account multiple midi ins if they go to the same vsti) (look at sonar, for example).

2. multi-processor support

3. better track organization options for both views (show/hide tracks, track folders, wide/narrow multiple tracks at a time, etc.) (look at sonar, for example); and how about being able to make effects and vstis in the panel below well, er, 'narrowable'.

4. view multiple automation envelopes (look at logic, for example), disable one or all and on a per-track or global basis. and full-on drawing/curves/editing of automation envelopes as well

5. track templates (look at sonar), including busses

6. tempo change and time signatures (look at any daw, ffs)

7. make quantize options a midi clip property (look at logic, for example)

8. a full-blown envelope pushing beat-slicing vsti (phat and intakt really could be improved upon so easily...)

9. oh yeah, numeric peak meters

10. track icons (yeah, they really do help on larger projects)
