I have multiple tracks per song, 10-13 tracks. Is there a way to once you have each seperate track edited, to mix all the tracks into one big track? or even condence 5 drum mic tracks into just one large track and then send it into a mastering program?
am i totally off on this? is this what people do or do they just take all the tracks and through it in a mastering program?
Final Mixdown (premastering)
Hi,
Yes you've got to make one big track from all your individual tracks. There are two ways, at least:
one is rendering function, read section 5.2.4 of the manual, which covers the matter quite well.
second is "resample", basically you record what yoou hear in the master track to a new audio track (I prefer that one). It is well explained in section 12.6 of the manual.
Basically, what you bring to mastering studio or to a mastering program is a stereo mixdown of your track.
Have a good reading !
Kind regards,
amo

Hi,
boh, no big theory about that but I somehow like to hear what I get... Plus I sometimes use LFOs or random parameters on tracks and I kinda take care of the first occurance ot the randomed thing, like if I don't like it I start over again and again.
Then it's been said that some plugs can make problems while rendering, though it didn't occur to me yet as I mainly use Live devices.
I even know some fetishist guys how prefer a resampled mixdown in pro tools rather than a bounce !
I sometimes use render as well, but prefer by taste hearing my track while I render it. That's it.
Best,
amo
