hello,
I am trying to ReWire loops from Reason 2.0 into Live. I just made an upgrade to 2.0.3 after having some nasty bugginess in Live 1.5 (which seemed to crop up out of nowhere; Ableton was unable to pinpoint the problem so I purchased an upgrade to try to get around it). The bugginess seems to have gone away which is great news for me, although I am having a new problem:
When I set up my loop points in Reason (L and R points), and I set up the track to record in via rewire in Live, once I hit record on a scene in Live, it starts recording the entire Reason track beginning with Bar 1, not at the left loop point as I had specified. In Live 1.5, this worked by default so I'm not sure why it's not working in the upgrade. Is there something I need to turn on/off to prevent this problem? I don't want to record the whole Reason sequence, just a few bars toward the end...
Any help is greatly appreciated -- I've also sent a note to Ableton directly but thought you guys might be able to help me too. It's sort of an emergency as I have a gig on Friday...
Live 2.0 and ReWire looping
Hi m. mercer,
Unfortunately there is still a ReWire Loop bug in Live 2.0.3. We're working on that and want to fix (probably within another bugfix update) but it will definitively take some time till then.
As workaround you could try to place the loop start short before the "real" loop begins. Of course this is not nice because you have to cut the beginning of the new recorded sample within a sample editor or to adjust the loop settings in the new recorded Live clip.
I hope this was at least a small help for you.
regards,
Alex

Loop problem!
Hi, not sure if this helps any one. But I have found that the loop problem does not exist when using the matrix sequencer in Reason. So I've just started using the matrix to sequence the redrum and so on. Doing this seems to make the loop smooth and not skip the first note of the sequence. Hope this helps. Cheers!

m.mercer,
Recording starts from where ever you have the song position locator set to, was it different in 1.5? You can also use the punch in/out option.
It would be good to have the option to automatically start recording from the loop start position when looping is active. Although I would only want this functionality for Session view recording. Is that how it was in 1.5?
