Soundcard issues

Any help please, I'm having issues using a (soundblaster audigy 2 notebook) Sound card. I have tried, new drivers, latency adjustments,and I still get crackles with heavy CPU ussage, and pops and clicks after every sample, I meen before and after every sample in my bank. Please some help I need an "audio GURU"

Is your comuter fast enough?
Enough RAM (512MB, 1 Gig is better)
Do you have lot of crap running in the background?
Did you do all the windows tweaks? (If you're on windows that is)
